Miami Open

Miami

The tournament was founded by former player Earl "Butch" Buchholz in 1985, 32 years ago. In 1987 the tournament moved to its current home in Key Biscayne. In 1999, Butch Buchholz announces that his family sold the tournament to IMG. In 2006, Hawk-Eye system was introduced on the Stadium court and later also utilized in the United States at the US Open Series events and at the US Open.
