One of the oldest tournaments in the tennis history was found in 1881, 136 years ago. Only Wimbledon and the US Open have been around longer. The events alternate from year to year between the cities of Montreal and Toronto. Since 1980 in even-numbered years the men's competition is held in Toronto and in odd-numbered years - in Montreal.
